As shown above, grips are available in two basic designs, both with a choice of plain elkhide or deluxe laminated-leather finger loops. Elkhide is heavy, soft, and comfortable, but will stretch and lose some of its good qualities with use. Laminated leather is a layer of sturdy cowhide with a soft deerhide pad laminated (glued) over the contact area, giving you the best of both worlds—grips with lam-leather are almost blister-proof.

Although the grips are all shown being worn “forehand” style here, they can be worn backhand equally well, and/or on different fingers.

Finger noose: $20

A simple, standard hand-chain interface–what most firedancers seem to be using. Elk-hide straps and belt leather reinforcement, with brass grommets. In this picture, it is in the finger-noose configuration. Worn as finger nooses, these are self-snugging.

Deluxe finger noose: $30

Identical to the standard finger nooses, but made with laminated leather finger loops. These resist stretching, pull-through, and are generally more sturdy and more comfortable. Especially recommended for people using heavier wicks.

Hand harness: $30

A more elaborate design that gives the benefits of both finger loops and a wrist anchorage. Solves the finger-noose problem of slippage, as well as the wrist-noose problem of needing to hold the chain. Elk-hide finger straps, belt leather palm strap, and utility leather wrist strap, with brass grommets, chrome buckle, and velcro. Please see the FAQ for sizing and options.

Deluxe hand harness: $40

Identical to the standard hand harness, but made with laminated leather finger loops. These resist stretching, pull-through, and are generally more sturdy and more comfortable. Especially recommended for people using heavier wicks.

Hand-harness adaptor: $20

Converts your finger nooses (standard, deluxe, or micro) to hand harnesses. Conversion takes only a minute (could not be done in mid-burn). Has a slightly bulkier feel in the hand than the hand harness alone. Let me know if you are using these with micro nooses, as you’ll need a size or two smaller.
